012. No label - How we celebrate Pride 2026

012. Ingen etikett - Så firara vi Pride 2026

Scent is one of our most powerful senses. It awakens dormant memories, creates moods, and can instantly change how we perceive a room. But for too long, the fragrance industry has been constrained by rigid frameworks and outdated norms, compartmentalizing scents into gender-specific categories. At Remoair, we refuse to follow the old templates that label creativity and experiences. You won't find categories, scent descriptions, or collections aimed at a specific gender.

Scent as a Universal Language

Our philosophy is based on a simple yet fundamental principle: scent is universal. When we create our scents and design our products, we never label them as feminine or masculine. A scent note doesn't carry a gender, and aesthetics are not limited by traditional gender roles.

For us, it's about freedom. The freedom to explore scents based on what appeals to you, your feelings, and your personality, completely liberated from societal preconceptions. As a proud LGBTQIA+ owned company, this perspective is deeply rooted in our identity. We know the importance of breaking norms, and we bring that insight into every part of our business.

The Cultural Codes of Scent: How Was the Division Created?

The fact that we often associate heavy wood notes or leather with men, and sweet flowers or powdery notes with women today, is neither a law of nature nor a universal truth. It is the result of historical and cultural constructions that have formed over time. In some cultures, such as parts of the Middle East, heavy scents of oud, roses, and cardamom have been common for everyone regardless of gender for centuries, while the Western perfume industry in the early 1900s began to market strictly gender-divided scents as an effective sales ploy. By making visible how these cultural codes have been created, it also becomes clear how easily they can be broken.

Pride 2026: A Campaign That Makes a Difference

Pride is about celebrating diversity, love, and everyone's right to be who they are. But it's also about solidarity and the fight for equal rights that continues year-round, worldwide.

In connection with Pride 2026, we at Remoair want to do more than just acknowledge the celebration. The wonderful thing about Pride is also that we are so confused when it is celebrated, because it is celebrated almost all year round across the world. We want to contribute to concrete change. Therefore, we are launching a campaign where we donate 5 SEK for every order placed with us during the period. We have chosen to donate the money to ILGA, an organization whose work is absolutely crucial for the rights of LGBTQIA+ people globally.

Who are ILGA and why do we support them?

ILGA, the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association, was founded in 1978 and is today the world's largest umbrella organization for LGBTQIA+ organizations. With member organizations in over 160 countries, ILGA works tirelessly to influence legislation, spread knowledge, and defend human rights at an international level.

Supporting ILGA is a conscious choice. They fight in countries where LGBTQIA+ people are still imprisoned, discriminated against, or denied basic safety, while also engaging in important dialogue with the UN and other international bodies. By working in a structured and broad manner, they create long-term change that saves lives and opens doors for a more inclusive world.

After this weekend's terrible act in Berlin, it feels like further proof of why Pride is still important. Until the day when everyone has the right to love whom they want, we will support and create campaigns.

Join and Contribute

When you shop at Remoair during Pride 2026, you are contributing to this vital work. Together, we can continue to challenge norms, both in the world of fragrance and in society at large. Scent is for everyone, just like human rights.
