For a long time, we at Remoair had been thinking about how we could take our fragrance concept to the next level and challenge how scented candles are perceived. When we looked out over the creative horizon, our eyes quickly landed on Tropical Scandinavia. For several years, we had followed the creators Johanna & Emil on their journey in Hammenhög. Their unique design language and strong visual identity felt like the perfect match – in combination with our own craftsmanship.
Sometimes all the pieces of the puzzle fall into place exactly when they should. Our founder Martin took matters into his own hands and reached out to Johanna & Emil at Tropical Scandinavia to see if they were open to a collaboration. It quickly became clear that their visions totally aligned; they had themselves been contemplating adding a completely new dimension to their universe in the form of fragrances. Imagine what a DM on Instagram can lead to.
Creative chaos and fragrance library in Alnarp
Shortly thereafter, we welcomed Tropical Scandinavia to our studio in lush Alnarp just outside Malmö. This is where, surrounded by greenery, the magic happens and where each candle is hand-poured. Opening the doors to our fragrance library and exploring scent notes together with such a vibrant design team was a fantastic experience.
During a creative and inspiring day, we intertwined fragrance and visual design into one whole. Martin told the story behind the fragrances and that each fragrance also carries an anecdote. There is a deep meaning behind the fragrances, what they are called and how they should be experienced. We smelled, discussed, and finally settled on three unique fragrance profiles that we paired with some of Tropical Scandinavia's most beloved symbols. The result was three unique characters where the visual and the sensory reinforce each other.

Craftsmanship and sustainability in focus
The collection consists of three scented candles, all carefully handmade by us in the studio in Alnarp. For us at Remoair, raw materials and the planet are as important as the scent experience itself. That's why we are extra proud that the candles are made from organic, ECOCERT-certified sunflower wax from France, which provides a clean and sustainable burn time.
The fragrances we have developed together are truly something out of the ordinary. If you happen to be passing by Tropical Scandinavia's showroom, we highly recommend you stop by to experience them live. We are open in the Studio on certain days during the summer where you will also be able to come and sniff the fragrances. Otherwise, it is of course just as easy to order them directly here.
